Thirty years ago, it was very rare to see a foreign made lathe, mill, drill, grinder or saw in the average machine shop. But prices of new machines were high, delivery times were long, and, as a result, many shops bought used machines from much bigger companies. Over time, foreign machine tool builders began to offer less expensive machines for immediate delivery. And today it is difficult to find a new lathe, mill, drill or grinder made in this country. There are still a few saw manufacturers in the U.S.A..
