Shamrock Machinery Company began selling Ryazan lathes in the early 1990's. Production of new heavy-duty U.S.-built lathes stopped in the 1970's. We found that the light and medium duty machines available from Taiwan and China were not acceptable to our customer base. The Ryazan lathe line provided a solution to this problem. And the features and standard accessories incorporated into these lathes convinced us that the Ryazan factory is committed to manufacturing first quality heavy duty lathes.
The Ryazan Machine Tool manufacturing plant was founded December 21, 1949 when the first lathe produced was accepted by the Russian State Commission. At present there are 3,000 employees. This plant has produced over 150,000 manual lathes, CNC lathes, Deep Hole Boring Machines and special machines since that time. Ryazan has its own foundry, way grinding, induction hardening and heat treating facilities.
