SPECIAL PIPE THREADING LATHE RT 983-3 MODEL

 

1. GENERAL DATA

 

Special Pipe Threading Lathe RT 983-3 model with hollow spindle is intended for machining pipes and pipes joint parts including cutting threads in piece or small lot production.

 

The machining pipe is installed through the hollow spindle, fastened with two 4-jaw universal/independent chucks and rotated together with the spindle. Free pipe end is supported on a steady rest positioned on the left side of the head stock.

 

The machine is able to perform the following works: outer turning, boring, drilling, taper turning, thread cutting (metric, inch).

 

The machine comes with a taper turning attachment that allows taper turning and taper thread cutting with angle of taper no more than 100

 

The design of feed box prevents from simultaneous engaging of lead screw and shaft. The lead screw and shaft are guarded to provide safe and healthy operator's work.

 

The apron Interlocking device prevents from simultaneous engaging of tool slide feeds in longitudinal and cross directions when the lead screw nut is locked.

 

A number of emergency devices ensure the machine safe operation: thermal and electrical shutdowns are implemented to prevent from electric motors overloads, clutches of the speed box and e-magnetic clutches of the apron - from cutting forces.

 

The handles and other controls are made with safe lock devices that prevent from spontaneous travels of working units.
